Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History
Interactive exhibits ranging from the Smithsonian's "Seeds of Change" commemorating the impact of Christopher Columbus' voyage to science and natural history displays focusing on energy, birds, gems and minerals and shells. 5 minute drive. 1900 N. Chaparral

Xeriscape Learning Center and Design Garden
An outdoor educational area with winding pathways, native plants and tropical gazebos which teaches water and energy conservation in landscaping. 5 minute drive. 1900 N. Chaparral

Asian Cultures Museum & Educational Center
Permanent displays include a 200-year-old five-foot Amida Buddha, pieces of ancient bronzeware, lacquerware, porcelains and fine Hakata figures. 5 minute drive. 1809 N. Chaparral

International Kite Museum

Texas State Aquarium

USS Lexington Museum on the Bay
An acclaimed naval aircraft carrier which was decommissioned on November 26, 1991. Visitors have their choice of five tour routes, educational exhibits, restored aircraft, and a collection of historic and cinematic memorabilia ( parts of the 2001 movie Pearl Harbor were filmed aboard the Lex). 5-10 minute drive. Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens
290 acre nature area features over 1,000 native plants in display areas, greenhouses, wetlands and along the one-mile "Mesquite Trail" nature walk. An excellent spot for birdwatching with a picnic area, visitor center and gift shop. 20-30 minute drive. 8545 S. Staples

Harbor Playhouse
Since 1925, the oldest continually performing community playhouse in Texas. The theatre group presents about 15 plays annually which include summer melodramas. 5 minute drive. 1800 blk. of N. Chaparral

Corpus Christi Beach
Just over the Harbor Bridge, the Corpus Christi Beach has picnic tables, restrooms and playground equipment. Beautiful stretch of beach with a nice view of Corpus Christi Bay. 5-10 minute drive.

Capt. Clark's Flagship
400 passenger paddle-wheeler provides narrated tours of Corpus Christi Bay and the Port. Cruise along the downtown bayfront passing close to the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. 5 minute drive. People's Street T-Head.

Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack

Padre Island National Seashore
This sparkling preserve by the sea embraces 80 miles of white sand and shell beaches, picturesque windswept dunes, wild landscapes of grasslands and warm offshore waters. The National Seashore is one of the longest stretches of primitive, undeveloped ocean beach in the United States. 20-30 minute drive.

Legendary King Ranch
Founded by Captain Richard King, recognized as the birthplace of American ranching industry, the King Ranch now encompasses some 825,000 acres of South Texas land, an area larger than the state of Rhode Island. 45 minute drive. Kingsville, Texas

Bay Jammin’ Concert and Movie Series

Beach to Bay Marathon Relay
The Beach to Bay Relay is the premier relay running event in the United States. The race’s purpose is to honor our nation’s military personnel on the national holiday known as, Armed Forces Day, always held on the third Saturday in May.

Corpus Christi Hooks Baseball
The Corpus Christi Hooks are a Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Regular season is from April to September and consists of over 70 home games played at the brand new Whataburger Field. Tickets start at $4.
